HISTORY OF KAPPA CHAPTER
The Kappa chapter was organized in 1977 by a transferee from Xavier
University, Brod Virgilio Rabago, 1976 - Gamma Chapter (Xavier
University). During their time, Cebu Institute of Technology
(CIT) was registered with the mother chapter and during the
subsequent National Convention, Kappa Chapter was assigned to CIT.
However the chapter became inactive during the 1980's.

When Brod Fernan Adem, 1984 - Alpha Omicron Chapter (MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology) had transferred to CIT on May 1985, there was no other ALTHONIANS in Kappa Chapter. Longing for his happy experiences while studying at MSU-IIT, the Kappa Chapter was revived by Brod Fernan on October 6, 1985 with the help of a newly acquainted brod from nearby Cebu Capitol College, brod Noel Balucan, 1985 - Alpha Beta Chapter (Notre Dame of Midsayap).
The pioneering batch was called "Hexagonians". Brod Fernan then was elected as the first Supreme Grand Altho (SGA) of the newly revived Kappa chapter.

Fraternities/Sororities were not recognized by the CIT administration but under the leadership of Brod Fernan, a wall clock with an Alpha Theta Omega markings was donated to and accepted by the CIT administration in 1986 and this was displayed at the Student Affairs Office. After few years, the same wall clock was transferred to the office of the Asst. Vice-President of the CIT.
Not long after the Kappa chapter was revived, the other inactive chapters of Cebu City namely Iota (University of Visayas), Alpha Omega (Southwestern University) and Beta Gamma (University of Cebu, formerly Cebu Central Colleges) were revived through the initiative and leadership of the products of the revived Kappa chapter.
While the ALTHONIANS of Cebu City campuses become active in helping among members, promoting self discipline, moulding to become leaders and providing services to others, the leading and most familiar chapter of Cebu City remains the Kappa Chapter.
Note that some products of Kappa Chapter had organized sub-chapter at their hometown or transferred school that has no Althonians chapter but since they did not met the pre-requisites for having their own chapter name, they had retained Kappa Chapter as their chapter.

This photo was taken on February 1986 during the first outing/hiking by the Althonians of various chapters in Cebu City. The hiking had started from the CIT campus at N. Bacalso Ave. near Mambaling up to the Taoist Temple at Beverly Hills, Lahug, Cebu City.
Taken at the CIT Parade Ground during the graduation ceremony of the AFCMT - Batch 1988 on March 1988. The Wing Commander of the batch was brod Cadet Colonel Fernan Adem.
